When Mr Hermann Rapp founded hera Laborsysteme GmbH in 1959 as a service store for TVs & radios, he most likely did not expect that the company one day would be a global player in the market of technical training systems and electrical laboratories. But surely, he would have been pleased by the idea.
The story of success began with the implementation of LS2000 as the first service – and repair workstation with bench rack integrated instruments, which was quite revolutionary in the 60th. Meanwhile, hera is a global trademark and known in all seven continents for its super modular PROFI workbench system with IoT conforming instrument technology. Industrial - and educational institutions use hera laboratory benches for service & repair, R & D, test & measurement, electronic manufacturing, electrical trainings, … just to mention some of the applications. A very big benefit for companies and institutes which use the workstations of hera Laborsysteme GmbH is its transformability. All bench configurations consist of numerous mechanical and electrical modules which can be individually chosen and variably assembled. The outcome is a perfectly tailored workstation, with the ability to serve a customer’s individual purpose on a very high level. However, if the demands on an existing workstation change after a while, then it will be quite easy to add or replace modules and accessories. In combination with the extraordinary product durability, the whole laboratory program is very sustainable as workstations can be kept state-of-the-art and thus been used for decades. The global necessity to change from fossil energies to electric energies, the progressing digitalization, and the urge of mankind for exploration, research and development in various fields ensure that the demand for highly advanced electronic laboratories continuously increases. This development surely could not have been foreseen when Hermann Rapp decided that bench rack integration would be practical.
